The site of a former military port that was used as a jumping off point for rescuing air crews, Crash Boat Beach was aptly named for this history. Some of the pier infrastructure remains from this time, though those who aren't aware of the history call it an eyesore.
Located in the vicinity of Aguadilla, 1.9 miles north-northwest of downtown Aguadilla, Crash Boat Beach is on the West coast of Puerto Rico. You might want regardless of whether you're staying in the immediate vicinity. At Crash Boat Beach, you'll have the best of both worlds: plenty to see and do nearby, but less crowds and noise than at other beaches.
Just a coupe miles from Highway 2, Crash Boat Beach is easy to spot and access. Follow the road signs on Route 107 and you'll get there without any trouble.
Located on Puerto Rico's northwest coast, Crashboat Beach (or, Playa Crashboat) is a favorite amongst watersports enthusiasts. The surf is variable with a tendency to get nasty, making it a challenge to endure for less experienced swimmers, but fun for those on motorized equipment. Off shore, scuba diving is popular in the deeper water. Crash Boat is great for surfing and swimming, thanks sections of the beach which experience different currents. Snorkeling is also great here, and to top it off, it may well be the most photographed beach in town. Businesses selling watersports equipment, food kiosks, restrooms, and showers make up the facilities here, and there is even designated parking for the beach. It does get busy on weekends, but it is easy to see why.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Crashboat Beach mainly attracts water sports enthusiasts and there usually aren't any crowds.
Crash Boat Beach is always a lovely side-trip when you're in the area. Look for it on the West coast of Puerto Rico; this area boasts other attractions such as, which is a mile and a half away.

Crash Boat Beach is near Aguadilla, so you can explore the city after your visit to the beach. Not far away you'll find Aguadilla, a city which is a neat region that strikes a balance between island tranquility and urbanization. From Crash Boat Beach, Aguadilla is just up the road, about two miles (three kilometers).
How many other people you encounter at Crash Boat Beach will depend on many factors, including the capacity of nearby hotels. There are not many major hotels nearby, but it's sometimes enjoyed by guests staying at some of the area's smaller options.

If someone in your group starts to get a little hungry at the beach, it's alright because you'll have plenty of places to dine, without having to go too far. One of the nearest restaurants is El Meson Sandwiches Cam El Mango. This restaurant features American cuisine. They're perhaps most famous, though, for their sandwiches. You could take a cab or probably walk to this restaurant as it's just a little ways away.

Visitors looking for a beach that's right for them will have other options if Crash Boat Beach doesn't suit their tastes.
