Portofino Diving

The Belize Reef is only a half mile off the coast, making it one of the top destinations for snorkelers. Daily guided trips to the reefs and other intriguing coastal locations are available to guests. Also available are diving courses.

Diving excursions can be made to the reef, the five mile Hol Chan marine sanctuary, Ray Alley, Mexico Rocks, Mata Cut or Cypress Gardens. Guests can also take a selection of scuba diving courses, including Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver Course, Open Water Diver, Open Water Referral and a Refresher Course.

In addition to diving, this water sports operator provides guests of the Portofino Resort, with the opportunity to also try deep sea fishing and snorkeling.

What to Expect

All of the dive excursions leave from the Portofino pier, which is only half a mile from the reef.

Guests can utilize the complementary try dive in the Portofino pool. An instructor will explain the scuba gear to you and get you comfortable with it; they will then let you try breathing underwater in the pool. Once you are comfortable, you are able to go on one of the dive trips.
