The Andros Reef, which is one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, is just a 10 minute boat ride from most docks on Andros. Thanks to preservation efforts by the Andros Conservancy and Trust, the reef remains unspoiled and a beautiful destination for divers of all skill levels. If you're PADI certified, you won't want to skip the chance to view this natural underwater system, and if you aren't certified, don't worry! You can do so through a number of resources while on Andros.
There are 4 dive operators and at least 8 different dive sites to choose from.
If you're looking forward to diving, you might want to check with Small Hope Bay Lodge Diving. Small Hope Bay Lodge offers dives off the Andros Barrier Reef and around 60 other sites daily for guests who are certified and interested in spending some time exploring the sea life of the area. They are found within Andros.
Another good option is Tiamo Resorts Diving. Tiamo Resort on South Andros is a well-loved property thanks in part to the number of daily activities offered to guests. This includes scuba diving. They can be reached at (242) 225-6871.
A third option is Andros Diving. Operating out of the Andros Beach Club in Kemp's Bay on South Andros Island is Andros Diving. This operation is known as one of the top dive companies in the area, and has been offering certification courses and open water dives to visitors for over a decade. They're located in southeastern Andros.
