Anguilla Casinos

Many vacationers enjoy gambling as a method of letting go of their inhibitions and excite at the chance to roll the dice. Unfortunately, due largely to the highly religious nature of the island inhabitants, travelers will find no casinos on the island of Anguilla.

An effort was made during the 1980s to establish the development of a casino on Anguilla, but a deeply conflicted debate surrounding the issue prevented it from ever being built. The island's Church Council actively ensures that the ban on casinos is continually enforced, but travelers hankering for a night of gambling can satisfy their urge on the nearby island of St. Maarten.

...gambling is only a short island hop away.

With just a short ferry ride and a quick trip in a taxi cab, vacationers can travel to and from Anguilla to St. Maarten's bustling casino area. With 14 different casinos to choose from, travelers are sure to be pleased by the selection of gambling facilities. Guests can choose from casinos located within hotels, like the Princess Casino and the Westin Casino, or gambling establishments that stand on their own property, such as the Jump-Up Casino. One of the best options for Anguilla vacationers visiting St. Maarten to gamble is the Princess Casino. If you're a high roller, head to the Casino Royale. This casino boasts the highest table limits anywhere on the island. Gamblers will discover that the casinos in St. Maarten offer a wide selection of games. If you're interested in bingo, head down to the Rouge Et Noir Casino. Nearly every casino on the island features blackjack, roulette and multiple versions of poker, as well as slot machines.

While Anguilla hosts no casinos on the island due to governmental restrictions, guests will find that seeking a night of gambling is only a short island hop away. If you want to have an entertaining evening without leaving Anguilla, consider exciting alternatives like dancing at the Red Dragon Disco or heading to a hotel for a beach barbecue complete with local calypso-style musical performances.
