Grey Pond

Noted as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International, Grey Pond attracts tourists to the area to view the specific species of wet land birds that make the pond their home.

Located at the east end of Anguilla, Grey Pond is surrounded by limestone slopes to the east and sand dunes to the north east.

White-cheeked Pintails, Snowy Plovers, Willets, Green-throated Caribs, Caribbean Elaenias, and Black-necked Stilts make their homes at Grey Pond throughout the year, while Least Terns use the spot as their nesting grounds between April and September.

Location

Grey Pond is found on the eastern edge of the island of Anguilla, near East End; it's five miles (seven and a half kilometers) to the east-northeast of the Valley.

If you build up an appetite exploring Grey Pond, you're going to be in luck, as you will find a plentiful supply of local dining spots within traveling distance. The most convenient place to eat to Grey Pond is Nat's Palm Grove Bar and Grill, which has a menu full of Caribbean meals. Nat's Palm Grove Bar and Grill is a slight ways away, but far enough that you might decide to arrange for using a viable mode of transportation to get there. Hibernia Restaurant and Art Gallery and Falcon's Nest are some more dining options close-by. At Falcon's Nest you and your group will be able to eat some American dishes and experience the Anguilla culture.

Visitors that are a fan of Grey Pond, and are interested in visiting others, might check out Cauls Pond and Long Pond; the first is three miles to the west-southwest of Grey Pond. You'll find at least one or two other activities in the area, including Heritage Museum Collection, which is within traveling range in Island Harbour.
