Hibernia Restaurant and Art Gallery

A tiny restaurant with Asian influence, this is a gem of a spot, featuring an art gallery and unique menu items.

The meat is of the highest quality and imported and the seafood freshly caught off the island waters. The 250 item long wine list is superb and reflects the owner's extensive traveling in order to find these special selections. The owners continue to travel throughout Southeast Asia annually for culinary inspiration for the eclectic French and Asian menu.

Although Raoul, the chef and owner prides himself on constantly evolving and making new culinary creations, the following three items remain permanently on the menu; home-made freshly smoked Caribbean fish selection as a starter, basil and coconut milk Thai casserole with Anguillan crayfish as a main course and home ice cream selections for desert.

Among other options, the menu features seafood, and a variety of diverse flavors, including influences from both Asian and eclectic cuisines. When deciding how to dress for this restaurant, consider that the style of the food and service is informal. The option to eat here is on the table during both dinner and lunch, so why not stop by?

Hibernia Restaurant is small, cozy and classy. The restaurant is airy and open and offers beautiful views of the sea. For a romantic change of pace, Hibernia is the place to be. During the summer of 2014, they completed some beautiful indoor and outdoor re-designing and up-grading of the setting, including a Balinese style water pool feature and enlarged the art gallery to three rooms. The overall experience is meant to be like going to a special place in a special semi-outdoor setting. The art gallery makes for a relaxing time in between courses or before and after dining to browse and enjoy the treasures they bring back from the Far East.

The art gallery specializes in contemporary Asian paintings, hand-made silver jewelry, Burmese antiques and miniature to giant stone sculptures that they purchase during our annual Asian travels.

If you need a ride, they offer a pick-up service from anywhere on the island at $25(USD) for two people, round trip. This must be reserved in advance.

Set in Island Harbour, fairly close to East End, Hibernia Restaurant and Art Gallery is a pleasant option for those visiting the region. Residents and tourists checking out the Valley might also think about having a meal here, as the restaurant is 4.9 miles to the northeast of town.
