Sandy Hill

Sandy Hill is a great place to go snorkeling. Though its small and pretty rocky, there's a good amount of smooth sandy spots to sunbathe. It's not developed, but there are some nearby accommodations. You're likely to see local fishermen here.

Set in Sandy Hill Bay, in the general vicinity of East End, this beach is on the East coast of Anguilla. You might want even if you aren't staying nearby. While Sandy Hill isn't particularly secluded, there's a lot less commotion than there is at the other, usually busy beaches in Anguilla. So while this isn't the most private place on the island to spend time with your sweetheart, less traffic at this beach means you'll encounter a lot less people along your romantic walk.

Amenities and Ambiance

Sandy Hill is a small, narrow beach located between The Valley and Junk's Hole. The beach has no hotels or restaurants and no signage to help you find it. It is a protected harbor for local fisherman and often locals will be the only visitors to the beach. While parts of it have velvet soft sand, a majority of the beach is pretty rocky. It's great for snorkeling, though.

If you're suddenly hungry or thirsty, the concession stand at Sandy Hill is the ultimate convenience. You might also have the option to order lunch from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Primarily a residential and commercial fishing area, you probably won't find many tourists at Sandy Hill. Visitors who appreciate the hospitality of locals and native culture will enjoy this charming beach.
