Sandy Hill

Sandy Hill is a great place to go snorkeling. Though its small and pretty rocky, there's a good amount of smooth sandy spots to sunbathe. It's not developed, but there are some nearby accommodations. You're likely to see local fishermen here.

Set in Sandy Hill Bay, in the same general area as East End, this beach is on the East coast of Anguilla. You might think about stopping by even if you are not staying very close. Though Sandy Hill is not a particularly quiet beach, visitors will notice fewer people here than are at the other, usually crowded beaches in Anguilla. So while you may not have the whole beach to yourself, you'll rarely be disturbed by crowds of beachgoers, should you decide to take a romantic walk.

Amenities and Ambiance

Sandy Hill is a small, narrow beach located between The Valley and Junk's Hole. The beach has no hotels or restaurants and no signage to help you find it. It is a protected harbor for local fisherman and often locals will be the only visitors to the beach. While parts of it have velvet soft sand, a majority of the beach is pretty rocky. It's great for snorkeling, though.

Many visitors find themselves ordering a drink or snack from the concessions here, even if they move off-site for lunch. You may also have the option to try local specialties from one of the mobile vendors who operate at or near this spot.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available. Primarily a residential and commercial fishing area, you probably won't find many tourists at Sandy Hill. Visitors who appreciate the hospitality of locals and native culture will enjoy this charming beach.
