Shoal Bay West is the kind of spot where tourists head for a lively outing, and they may not know what to do first - let's just say this beach's location isn't a secret.

How to Access The Beach
This beach is just one of the lovely bay beaches that surround the island of Anguilla and is perhaps one of the less accessible beaches for tourists, unless you're staying at the resorts that line the beachfront.

Amenities and Ambiance

Shoal Bay West is near the southwestern tip of the island, next to Maunday's Bay. This beach is populated by hotels and resorts and flanked by mangroves and sea grape brush. A walk to the western edge of the beach will reveal a great lookout spot over the water.

Many visitors find themselves ordering a drink or snack from the concessions here, even if they move off-site for lunch. Depending on the season and time of day, you may also be able to order lunch from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. You will find the water here is of good snorkeling quality, so bring along some gear if you want to do some underwater exploration. Shoal Bay West is a secluded beach, so visitors need not worry about huge crowds. It does border popular Maunday's Bay, however, so it's not completely isolated.

Since Shoal Bay West can be located within an area popular among tourist, you might need to hunt to get a spot!
