Take the road less traveled and cycle around Antigua. For those who want to experience nature while traveling around the island, a rented bicycle or moped is the perfect mode of transportation.

Biking is fun and affordable. You can find a wide selection of mountain bikes at in Hodges Bay, where the cost for an 18-speed bike is around $20(USD) per day and $85(USD) for the week. The cost for moped rentals starts at $30(USD) per day.

The advantages of traveling by moped or bike include never having to worry about finding a parking space, and a considerably smaller gas bill. Be sure to check the weather before setting out on your moped or bike, or you might end up all wet in an unexpected rain shower. It is smart to rent a helmet with your bike or moped, and you will be required to purchase a temporary local operator's license before driving your moped.

If you are considering sightseeing at your own pace, there are two places that can help.
