This is a long beach without a lot of shade, but with calm waters and soft sand. This beach not only offers great snorkeling, swimming and splashing, but interesting hikes too. You can walk up to the tumultuous waters at the tip of the cape and enjoy the endless blue view of the ocean, especially at sunset.

Located in the northern part of Five Islands, Deep Bay is on the North West coast of Antigua. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity. Travelers will find that, although Deep Bay is by no means secluded, it's also not one of Antigua's most crowded beaches. This makes it an excellent choice for those of you who want to visit a somewhat lively beach without having to fight other beachgoers for a spot in the sand.

How to Access The Beach

Deep Bay is conveniently located, just about ten minutes West of St. John's by car. A ten minute hike North of the beach will bring you to Fort Barrington, which dates back to around 1780.

Amenities and Ambiance

Facing West and covered with gray-white sand, this beach has a few interesting features. A hundred year-old shipwreck lies in the middle of the bay's water's and makes for great snorkeling. The bay's shape calms the waters here so swimming is relaxing and carefree.

Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. The water here is clear and good for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some equipment if you want to see the underwater world.

Bear in mind that the area surrounding Deep Bay is a bustling area, so make sure to get a spot!
