Green Island Beach

One of the many small islands off the Antiguan coast, Green isle is a privately owned island, which has belonged to the Mill Reef club since 1947. If you visit, you will discover several beautiful, secluded beaches. Snorkeling is great right offshore, so be sure to bring your mask and fins.

Set on Green Island, this beach is on the West edge of the island, You might want even if you are not staying particularly close by. This beach isn't just another pleasant afternoon distraction, it is one of the more unique and quiet beaches in Antigua. While Green Island Beach may be a little harder to reach, it's the best place to take an undisturbed nap on the sand.

How to Access The Beach
You can only reach Green Island by boat, but many charter services from Antigua make frequent visits here.

Amenities and Ambiance

This island is a popular stop for many sea charter boats and tours. There are a few strips of velvet soft white sand with a backdrop of lush foliage. It's isolated and calm, a true paradise.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear and good for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you've been hoping to get in some underwater exploration.

If you find that you enjoy beaches which offer those who visit a calm enclave, then think about trying out Green Island Beach; it is located in a less urban part of the region.

Found on the West coast of Green Island; this area boasts other attractions such as Harmony Hall Gallery, which is two miles away.

If you want to mix culture with your visit to the beach, you may want to consider visiting Betty's Hope, one of the closest museums, so it could be a welcomed alternative to hot afternoon activities.

Green Island Beach is close to Willikies, so a trip into the city is a definite option. Cities near Green Island Beach include Willikies, which is not heavily urbanized, though it can be an interesting destination for those who want to see more of the area.

Hotels

The number of other vacationers sharing this coastline can vary widely, depending on everything from the time the sun sets to how many people have booked rooms nearby. There aren't many major hotels in the immediate vicinity, but it can attract guests from some of the area's smaller options.

If the heat at the beach has you craving a cool cocktail and a bite to eat, you'll have plenty of places to dine, without having to go too far. One of the nearest places to eat is Harmony Hall Restaurant. This restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine. They also specialize in pasta and seafood. It is located two miles away.

Needless to say, Green Island Beach isn't the only beach worth visitng on Green Island.

Another location you might enjoy is Nonsuch Bay South, situated two miles to the west-northwest. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Green Bay Beach offers more action, and isn't far from nearby attractions.

Another location you may want to try is Green Bay Isthmus Beach, which is located three quarters of a mile to the south west.

Perhaps Green Island Beach is the most convenient coastline for you to visit, but some travelers itch to explore more; in which case you should find a beach with a seclusion factor that suits you.
