On the Northeast side of Antigua, Hawksbill Bay flows effortlessly into the Caribbean Sea. With the exception of the Hawksbill Hotel, the area is fairly undeveloped, the perfect place to find your missing piece of mind. Palm trees elegantly line the beach, which boasts soft gray sand.
Located in Five Islands, in the same general area as St. John's, Hawksbill Bay is on the West coast of Antigua. You might want even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Hawksbill Bay is one of those beautiful but fun beaches that is not terribly crowded, even though its not far from some of Antigua's best hotspots.
The Hawksbill Hotel is some of the only development on this are of the island. The sand here is not blindingly white, but a light, soft gray. The water is as crystalline as any in the Caribbean. The beach is long and clear, with lush greenery behind it and dazzling ocean in front.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Fortunately, the water here is of good snorkeling quality, so grab your gear if you've been hoping to get in some underwater exploration.
Remember to take into account that the area right around Hawksbill Bay is a popular spot, so make sure to get a spot!
Visitors will find this beach on the West coast of Antigua. It's located near Royal Antiguan, which is not very far away, so visitors have the option to walk or to take a cab, and it is one of a number of favorite destinations in the area.
Some may think that beaches and museums are an odd combination, but some visitors find that museums like The Museum of Antigua and Barbuda (one of the closest to Hawksbill Bay) offer rare insight into Caribbean life and a whole new side of Antigua's history.
