St. James Club Beach

This is the most popular of the two beaches at the St. James's Club resort, because of its close proximity to most of the rooms and restaurants. This beach is especially popular with guests of the resort during the summer, when the steady breeze off the ocean is especially welcome.

Positioned in Mamora Bay, St. James Club Beach is on the South edge of Antigua. You might want even if you are not staying nearby. Travelers looking for a spot that's a little out of the way, but still active, may want to give St. James Club Beach a try. It's just slightly removed from the center of it all, but it's not totally secluded either.

How to Access The Beach
A gate limits vehicular access to the beach. While access to the beach is largely limited to guests staying at St. James Club, if you visit for lunch, the staff might not object to your spending a little time walking the beach before or after. If you are staying at the resort, the limited access helps with crowd control, keeping the environment as quiet and picturesque for guests as possible.

Amenities and Ambiance

St. James Beach with its powder white sand and palm lined shores features waters that are just slightly rougher than its sister beach of Mamora Bay Beach because it opens to the sea and often experiences stronger winds. Gazing out over the water from the shore, beach-goers will notice that the color of the water changes the deeper the water gets, starting with bright turquoise and moving to more deeper blues.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Luckily, umbrellas and chairs are available for visitors hoping for a shaded area to relax.
