St. James Club Beach

This is the most popular of the two beaches at the St. James's Club resort, because of its close proximity to most of the rooms and restaurants. This beach is especially popular with guests of the resort during the summer, when the steady breeze off the ocean is especially welcome.

Situated near the center of Mamora Bay, St. James Club Beach is on the South coast of Antigua. You should consider stopping by regardless of whether you're staying in the vicinity. Although Antigua and Barbuda has more secluded beaches than St. James Club Beach, it has the right combination of charm and personality to attract small crowds.

How to Access The Beach
A gate limits vehicular access to the beach. While access to the beach is largely limited to guests staying at St. James Club, if you visit for lunch, the staff might not object to your spending a little time walking the beach before or after. If you are staying at the resort, the limited access helps with crowd control, keeping the environment as quiet and picturesque for guests as possible.

Amenities and Ambiance

St. James Beach with its powder white sand and palm lined shores features waters that are just slightly rougher than its sister beach of Mamora Bay Beach because it opens to the sea and often experiences stronger winds. Gazing out over the water from the shore, beach-goers will notice that the color of the water changes the deeper the water gets, starting with bright turquoise and moving to more deeper blues.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Fortunately, chairs and umbrellas will be available for guests seeking a relaxing spot in the shade.
