Guadirikiri Caves

Located on the property of the Arikok National Park, Guadirikiri Caves are fabled to be the spot where two lovers burst through the rocks to create the two domed entrances, and flew to heaven. Though fascinating, many guests find it hard to believe that this dark and gritty spot is the site of anything so romantic.

Stretching into the mountain for 100 feet, Guadirikiri Caves are low, dark, and damp. The chambers light up from the sunlight that peeps through the holes in the ceiling and give way to views of traditional Arikok cave drawings. Hidden in the highest, darkest corners are hundreds of harmless bats. Claustrophobic travelers may want to skip this site.

A tour of the caves takes guest into the damp, dark space, which features native cave drawings and a bat habitat.

Guadirikiri Caves is found on the island of Aruba, close to Butucu; it is to the east of Oranjestad.
