Most hotels and all-inclusive resorts in Aruba have tennis courts on-site. While guests receive top priority, visitors can arrange to play at most of these courts. As an added bonus, most are lit for night games.

Aruba Racquet Club is located in Palm Beach, near the California Lighthouse, and hosts many international tournaments. The club is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A round on this court is reasonably priced at $10 (USD). In addition to having eight courts - six of which are lighted - the club also boasts a swimming center, an aerobics center, and a restaurant. These amenities come in handy if the night's "passion" for tennis drops off. Highly experienced coaching staff who speak English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamento offer lessons that cost between $15 and $20 (USD) per half hour and $35 (USD) per hour.

Travelers situated closer to Oranjestad can visit La Cabana Tennis Club, located in La Cabana Beach Resort on Eagle Beach. Non-members and non-guests can play for $6 (USD) per person per hour with an additional light fee of $4 (USD) per prepaid hour. You must sign-up in advance and there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. To sign-up, call or visit the club in person.

La Cabana Tennis Club is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Private lessons are available by appointment for $20 (USD) per half hour and $40 (USD) per hour. Tennis clinics and super drills are available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Racquets are available for rent for $5 (USD) per hour with a $35 (USD) refundable deposit. If your racquet is in need of repair, take advantage of the 24-hour racquet restringing and repair service. Schedules and rates are subject to change.

If your once Agassi-like skills need some retooling, the Aruba Tennis Academy is a great place to work on skill improvement. Likewise, this is the place for you even if you do play like a pro or are a tennis enthusiast. Located in Oranjestad and near Eagle Beach, Aruba Tennis Academy offers a wide range of services for both locals and visitors. The Academy provides free pick-up and drop-off services for travelers without transportation. The first class professional staff offers instruction through private, semi-private, and small group lessons. Ask about the five hour package, which offers lessons on stroke improvement, tactical improvement, and hitting sessions.

Other available Aruba Tennis Academy packages include those for children ages four and up, as well as a junior program where you can train with top Aruba junior players. All programs offer a video analysis of your practices; you get a copy of the video and a free Tennis Academy t-shirt. The Aruba Tennis Academy is a great place to meet other tennis players of various skill levels. The Academy holds weekly round robin tournaments and complimentary clinics that involve other resorts. Reservations are mandatory to participate.

After leaving Aruba, you may feel confident enough to challenge tennis pro Pete Sampras - but it's not advised.
