The Arco, or Arch, is a monument in honor of the building of the highway to Barahona. Prior to the highway, the area was cut off from the rest of the nation, and the highway helped ensure the city's modernization.
When entering the city, you will be able to spot the monument by nothing less than the large, rectangular arch in the middle of the highway. The arch is painted mainly white with some red squares.
