The Barbados Golf Club was the very first championship golf course on the island open to the public. The course features a pair of lakes and a number of coral bunkers which add not only a challenging aspect to the play of the course, but also to its unique personality.
This golf course has become an established location to tee off, since it was built in 2000. The course layout, hole placement, and practice areas were created by Ron Kirby, the lead architect of Barbados Golf Club. It has earned a course rating of 68.9, and its 18 holes stretch out 5810 yards.
The course is on the southern tip of Barbados, up the road a little ways from Miami Beach, and just 5 miles from Oistins. The Golf Club has grown up in the quiet residential area that surrounds it, and despite its relative youth, still boasts some magnificent old trees that are scattered throughout, which give it a very mature feel. Though it's not on the beach, its lush, tropical setting will make you well aware of your Caribbean location.
