Not as developed as some of its west coast counterparts, Lakes Beach is a quiet locale to choose for a day of lounging on the beach, but trying to swim there is not recommended.
Set near the heart of St. Joseph Parish, Lakes Beach is on the North East coast of Barbados. You should consider stopping by even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in Barbados may be just as breezy and refreshing, but tend to be more crowded because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.
Lakes Beach is located on the east coast of Barbados, off Emily Bourne Highway between Barclays Park and Cattlewash.
Due to its location along the Atlantic Coast, the waters at Lakes Beach are known to be rough. Still, guests who want to make the trip will enjoy the tan colored sand and dark blue hue to the water.
Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.
If you happen to favor sunny days that offer an idyllic place to escape, then maybe head on over to Lakes Beach; it is hidden away in a more natural part of the region.
