Skeetes Bay

Skeetes Bay offers great swimming with the area's light waves and wonderful views of the overlooking cliffs. The area is fairly quiet, though it operates as a local fishing area for the community.

Positioned on the eastern edge of Whitehaven, 1.7 miles northwest of Coles Pasture, Skeetes Bay is on the East coast of Barbados. You should think about stopping by whether or not you're staying nearby. Do you dream of finding a beach tucked into an untouched part of town? Many visitors seek a beach that hasn't been "discovered" by thousands of tourists; beaches less-traveled like Skeetes Bay are perfect when you need a break from the typical tourist scene.

How to Access The Beach
The beach is accessible to pedestrians and vehicles via local roads off of Highway 4B. Local signs will point you in the right direction, but keep an eye out for the Wishing Well bar, which is close to the entrance.

Amenities and Ambiance

Skeetes Bay can be found off the southeast coast of the island and features an ideal swimming location thanks to the bay water. Dramatic cliffs with lush foliage provide an excellent backdrop for the beach, while the turquoise waters ensure a wonderful photo opportunity. South of the Bay is Culpepper Island and Ragged Point lighthouse.

Restrooms are available at Skeetes Bay. Shower facilities are available, so you can clean up before leaving. Happily, the off-shore waters are of good snorkeling quality, so purchase or rent some gear if you're looking to see what goes on beneath the surface.

Guests who are planning to take advantage of the amenities and services extended at this location, will be thankful; Skeetes Bay is found in a region that is not generally considered a tourist area. Taking that into consideration, struggling to acquire an open amenity while at the beach is not a thing you will do regularly, in spite of what the time is when you get there.
