Even active vacationers with jam-packed itineraries will discover advantages to finding a beach that's a long way from the nearest major city; less popular beaches like Skeetes Bay might not be typical "beach scenes", but are nice and private.

How to Access The Beach
The beach is accessible to pedestrians and vehicles via local roads off of Highway 4B. Local signs will point you in the right direction, but keep an eye out for the Wishing Well bar, which is close to the entrance.

Amenities and Ambiance

Skeetes Bay can be found off the southeast coast of the island and features an ideal swimming location thanks to the bay water. Dramatic cliffs with lush foliage provide an excellent backdrop for the beach, while the turquoise waters ensure a wonderful photo opportunity. South of the Bay is Culpepper Island and Ragged Point lighthouse.

You won't have to worry about finding a bathroom at Skeetes Bay because there are public restrooms. Shower facilities are available here, so you can clean off the sand before hitting more attractions. Fortunately, the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so grab some equipment if you're wanting to check out the underwater sites.

the area surrounding Skeetes Bay is not exactly a tourism capital. What this means is that failing to find an available convenience while at the beach is not a scenario that you will be forced to do regularly, despite what time it is.
