Spanish Point

Spanish Point is the south easternmost point of Barbuda, named for a shipwrecked Spanish vessel that ran aground here in 1695. It's famous for it's beautiful coral reefs.

Set on the island of Barbuda, You might think about stopping by even if you are not staying particularly close by. There are advantages to visiting a beach that isn't surrounded by thousands of hotel rooms; relatively untouched parts of the coast like Spanish Point let you escape people-watchers and rowdy beachgoers.

You have to charter a boat from Antigua, but it's worth it for the seclusion and fantastic snorkeling you'll find here.

A skinny stretch of sand on isolated Barbuda, Spanish Point is a truly secluded beach experience. The ocean floor is dotted with amazing coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling. The beach is long though and plenty of ocean bed is clear for safe swimming.
