How to Reach Basseterre by Airplane

Flying to Basseterre is simple to plan

Set about two miles northeast of Basseterre is the international airport that services all of St. Kitts.  This is great news for tourists who will be staying in the area and want to avoid any more travel then necessary.  Just a quick taxi ride or a short drive in a rental car will be all that you need to reach your accommodations in town.

Bradshaw International

Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) is a modern facility that has bee updated and renovated as recently as 2006.  The property features a 8,002 foot long runway, a business center, shopping, dining, and more.

Flying to Basseterre from the US

Delta Airlines, US Airways, and American Airlines are the three main carriers with flights to St. Kitts on a normal basis.  These flights travel from several major hubs in the country, mainly along the east coast.

The following chart informs you of which airlines offer flights directly from the U.S. as well as which airports they fly from. Not all of the flights you will see listed on the web make sense so it can be handy to see which airlines fly directly to this location.

Flying to Basseterre from Canada

Air Canada makes regular trips to St. Kitts from Toronto, so if you're traveling from the Great North this will be your best option.  If flying from Toronto is not convenient for you, make plans for a connection in the Unites States or the Caribbean.

Flying to Basseterre from Europe

London is the gateway to Basseterre from Europe, which means that anyone traveling from other countries will have to plan for a stopover in the United Kingdom or connect through the United States, Sint Maarten, or Puerto Rico.

If you'll be traveling from across "the Pond" the following chart will be useful.

Flying to Basseterre from the Caribbean

If you're planning on visiting a few islands in the Caribbean, or perhaps live in the region, you'll find there are a good number of islands that offer direct flights to St. Kitts.

See below for scheduled air service from airports in the Caribbean region. If there aren't any flights directly from your preferred airport, a connecting flight from another airport in the Caribbean might prove to be an excellent option.

Entry Requirements

The requirement for most people visiting Basseterre is a passport, proof of sufficient funds to sustain them throughout their trip, an a return or onward plane ticket.  Canadian citizens, however, can get by with a birth certificate with the raised seal in addition to a government issued photo I.D.

Direct flights to St. Kitts may not be as plentiful as other destinations in the Caribbean, but flying to Basseterre will always be the simplest option to arrange.  Thanks to the airport's location near town, it is also the most convenient and thus the easiest decision to make.
