Activities in Bathsheba

Bathsheba is a hidden treasure that locals seem to enjoy utilizing as their way to get away for a bit, while foreign tourists do not as frequently stay here.  Because of this, those that do find it be a haven away from the major resort areas of the island.  Adventurous visitors will find the area's favored activities like surfing and hiking to be to their liking, but the most popular source of entertainment here is fishing.

Another little known activity that is popular is surfing.  With the reef providing the perfect set up and the Atlantic swells being notable all on their own, this area is known for its high waves that seasoned pros even sometimes stuggle maintaining balance in.  Signs posted warn against swimming because of the strong currents, so swimming and surfing is to be done at your own risk.

Just south of Bathsheba is a hiing trail that runs alongside a former rail road.  The walk takes place along a coastline of hilly property and features a collection of back boulders, canopies of low trees, and continuous views of the ocean.

There is not much going on in Bathsheba, making it great for fishermen looking for a no-nonsense day of fishing. The small fishing village won't offer much in terms of amenities, but will satisfy anyone looking for the local experience.

If you and your traveling companions like to fish you will be happy to know there are a few charter fishing services that operate from this area. To get more information about the closest fishing options, click this link.
