Blue Hole National Park

Within the property lines of Blue Hole National Park are some of the most popular natural attractions in Belize. Because the entire park takes only about half a day to explore, including a dip in the Blue Hole, it is easy to include it in your itinerary.

Blue Hole National Park is a 500 acre property consisting of two cave systems, a series of trails, and the sparkling Blue Hole pool for which the park is named.

Over 200 species of bird make their permanent residence within the confines of this park, including several rarities like the Piratic Flycatcher. The tapir, three jungle cat species, a few types of lizards, and many more mammals also live here. The most popular attraction is the Blue Hole, followed by St. Herman's Cave.

Location

Located in Central Belize, west-northwest of Sarawina, Blue Hole National Park welcomes residents and vacationers rooming in this area of Belize. Regardless of whether or not you are staying particularly close, you should feel free to stop by to check it out. If you're wondering, Belmopan is nine and a half miles (15 kilometers) to the northwest.

This park is located about 12 miles southeast of Belmopan.

Of course, one of the most exciting options while spending an afternoon exploring the area could be sharing a dish at a restaurant within traveling distance of this outdoor park. Brown's Deli is a wonderful location to have a bite to eat at before spending time at this park, and is the closest restaurant to it. Also within reach, you and your group will come across options such as Ter's Delights and Tropical Restaurant giving you a fair number eating options.
