Gaïa Riverlodge stands as a wonderful getaway in the jungles of Belize, in the midst of the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve with lots of natural wonders around like the five perfect waterfalls that the lodge draws its name from. Cabanas here are private, cozy, and rustic and the lodge offers lots of activities and tours to guests.
Set in Central Belize, 48.2 miles west of Hopkins, Gaïa Riverlodge is a great choice for guests who are thinking about staying in this part of Belize. The center of San Ignacio is ten miles (16 kilometers) to the northwest.
Gaïa Riverlodge features a series of cabanas made of local hardwood, palmetto sticks, varnished mahogany, and bay leaf thatched roofs. All cabanas are well screened and each of the beds has mosquito netting over them. The floors are hardwood and the furnishings are locally crafted.
Each cabana has a private bathroom, and showers are warm but not quite hot. Some of the cabanas have baths, verandahs, and hammocks for extra comfort. Accommodations include Standard Cabanas, Luxury Cabanas with beautiful views of the waterfalls, Family Cabanas with two floors and extra beds and a mini-fridge, Junior Suites with views of the waterfalls and extra amenities like a mini-fridge and coffeemaker, and the Riverside Villa, a new villa that is actually two villas connected by an open-air deck. The Riverside Villa includes much more than a standard cabana, including a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, small library, writing desk, hammocks, seating areas, and a picnic table. The smaller is the sleeping cabana with the bedroom and bathroom while the larger cabana contains the kitchen and everything else.
