Accommodations

The accommodations at Caves Branch are simply incomparable. Every possible step was taken to maximize guests' immersion into nature while maintaining a reasonable level of comfort and minimizing the impact on the local ecology. To truly appreciate this fact, realize that all of the materials for the tree houses were carried by hand rather than by machines to avoid trampling and polluting the jungle, a truly marvelous feat and a testament to the owners' commitment to quality and nature.

All rooms use local, natural materials as well as local artwork and regional marble, and rooms do not have phones, television, or radios in order to keep out the noises of civilized life. The tree houses have walls, of course, with a screened door and windows that keep the bugs out while letting in the sights, sounds, and smells of the jungle.

There are four Jungle Cabanas that include a double bed with bunk beds and like all of their accommodations, they have powerful ceiling fans and are completely screened. There is a sink and toilet inside the cabana and warm water outdoor jungle showers for bathing. They have thatched roofs in the style of the ancient Mayan.

There are also four Jungle Suites - Each suite has a furnished front patio, a living room with wicker furniture and a futon or bunk beds, indoor washroom with hot and cold running water, shower and toilet, powerful ceiling fans, and a raised bedroom with a queen-size bed. The entire jungle suite is surrounded by screened picture windows that allow the breeze and jungle sounds through but keep the critters out...

Next, there are five Jungle Bungalows set under the canopy and within the natural gardens of the lodge. These are fully screened to keep the bugs out and the essence of the jungle in. Each bungalow contains a queen size bed, sitting room with a double futon, full inside bathroom facilities with hot water showers, powerful ceiling fans, hardwood, terra cotta tile ceilings, and a wraparound veranda.

The property includes also four Canopy View Tree Houses located about 200 feet above the Caves Branch River and have amazing views of the Caves Branch Valley and jungle canopy. There is a king size bed in the bedroom overlooking the living room and bunk beds in the living room. An additional bunk bed can be requested to accommodate up to six people. The full bathroom has doors to both the bedroom and living room and has a separate water closet and a large shower with screened-in outdoor views. The second outdoor shower is located near the entrance of the unit off of the main deck. The Canopy View luxury tree houses also have a second story deck complete with a two person soaker tub and is accessed by a stairway off the main floor bedroom. The second floor deck has a spectacular view of the canopy and Caves Branch valley below. It is an excellent place to have morning coffee, relax at the end of the day and watch the sunset or on clear nights have a stunning view of the sky.

Nearby are two Two-Bedroom River View Tree Houses that can sleep up to 6 people and are ideal for families and small groups traveling together. They are located about 75 feet above the Caves Branch River. These tree houses are two stories high. On the main floor, situated in the middle of the jungle canopy there is a bedroom with a king size bed overlooking the living room with a sofa, two chairs and bunk beds. The main floor also has a full bathroom with a separate shower, along with an outdoor shower located off the main deck. A circular staircase leads up to a second floor which has a private deck with a two person soaker tub. There is also an additional private bedroom with a king size bed and a two piece en-suite bathroom. Guests staying on the second floor of the tree house usually use the outdoor shower off of the main floor deck. The second floor has a wonderful view of the canopy and is an excellent place to have a morning coffee, relax at the end of the day and watch the sunset or on clear nights have a stunning view of the sky.

Finally, there are four Riverview Tree Houses located about 75 feet above the Caves Branch River. The screened living room allows for panoramic views of the jungle and river below. The raised bedrooms feature a king size bed overlooking the living room. Some units feature a bunk bed and/or a futon sofa bed in the living room. There is a full indoor bathroom with shower and also, many guest's favorite feature, a second outdoor shower near the unit's entrance off of the main deck.
