Maya Beach Bistro

Maya Beach Bistro is on the same premises as Maya Beach Hotel, and is a viable choice worth considering if you are going to explore this part of Belize. It is 6.7 miles north of Placencia. Fresh fish and contemporary fare make a nice pair at this much-loved fine foods restaurant. <p>Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner items or order off their small plate menu for a lighter portion. The menu pulls from Belizean traditions as well as other tropical influences. Many of the flavor pairings are both contemporary and unique. Coconut, spices, vegetables and meats grown on small local farms, as well as abundant local seafood are featured throughout the menu. Creative sauces and unexpected culinary touches further elevate the dining experience.</p>

Mesa Cafe

Set toward the center of San Pedro, Mesa Cafe is on the same premises as Vilma Linda Plaza, and is a good option for people who are going to explore this town and areas nearby. Not only do they have festive fare including contemporary delights and particularly coffee, but they're also known for sandwiches. <p>Breakfast and lunch favorites with a twist is what Mesa Cafe has to offer, such as scotch eggs, vegetarian croquettes, and a spicy chicken burger. Some of the most unique menu items are the Mesa Mac and Cheese, which is Mexican chorizo, onions, and cheese or the Caribbean Shrimp Sandwich with pineapple salsa.</p>

You can't plan for it, but sometimes the best kitchens, cafes, and dining rooms in Belize are those you run into while walking around during the day.
