Established over 20 years ago, Shipstern Nature Reserve protects an area of land and allows local flora and fauna to thrive.

Shipstern Nature Reserve features 27 thousand acres of natural wetlands and tropical forests.

Guests visiting the Shipstern Nature Reserve are treated to a tour of the Visitor's Centre and Butterfly Garden, afforded access to the Botanical Train, 65-foot observation tower, museum, and the lovely Mahogany Park. Of course, do not forget the main attraction; the nature reserve that seeks to conserve Belize's natural beauty.

Birders will find this haven a treasure-trove for spotting numerous species, thanks to the variety of ecosystems that are present in the reserve. Additionally, active tourists will want to consider taking part in one of the tours that will give a first hand experience at the challenges involved in conservation in Belize.
