Guanacaste National Park

Nature, culture, and history meet at Guanacaste National Park, where visitors can explore the interrelationships of the three and how they have had an effect on Belize.

Guanaca National Park is a small park which features a broadleaf forest where tiger cats hide in the brush.

Location

Set in Central Belize, south of Lamanai, Guanacaste National Park always welcomes visitors lodging in this part of Belize. Regardless of whether or not you are staying in the vicinity, you should feel free to stop by to check out the sights. It is 1.6 miles northwest of Belmopan.

RW" Guanacaste National Park is the most accessible of the Belize Audubon Society managed protected areas; located less than two miles from the capital city of Belmopan at the intersection of the Hummingbird and Western Highways. Buses will stop right outside the park.

Nearby Restaurants

Don't worry if your visit to the park leaves you a bit hungry -- you can find a wide variety of local dining spots in the general vicinity. Arch Seafood Restaurant, which serves International meals, is also the most convenient dining option from the park. The dining establishment is a small ways off, but removed enough that you might decide to arrange for taking advantage of some mode of transportation to visit there. Also within reach, you and your group will have options including Yim Saan Restaurant and Corkers Restaurant & Pub where you and your companions shouldn't leave without ordering a plate of their specialty, fish and chips, among others.

Other types of local attractions include Belize Archaeology Museum, which is a mile and a half away Belmopan. You might want to also consider making the trip to Jaguar Paw Zipline, which is another attraction in the vicinity.
