Located on the westernmost side of the main island, this course has seen an impressive list of celebrities at one time or another, including Babe Ruth, Winston Churchill, and multiple US presidents. The course has a long history on the island and a reputation as one of the best courses in the world. It has gone through several renovations and modifications to keep it at a top level -- the most recent one in 2002.
Founded in 1921, this golf course on Bermuda has made itself an established place to tee off. The greens, holes, and surprise challenges were created by C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor, the lead architect of the course. The golf course has been given a course rating of 71.3, and its 18 holes stretch out 6095 yards. Also be aware that they've got a golf pro, Kevin Benevides, available at the course ready to help first-timers perfect their skills or give advanced help for accomplished players.
This winding course runs right up next to the ocean on 3 of its 4 sides, and a number of holes stretch out alongside and parallel to the ocean, making for some spectacular views. The course is dotted with bunkers and lakes, which can wreak havoc on players, as it apparently did for Babe Ruth who, legend has it, hit 11 straight balls into the same lake on the 5th hole. So be extra careful with that one.
