Port Royal Golf Course

Port Royal Golf Course is one of the best public courses around, featuring 18 championship holes and annually hosting the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. It's nearly 7,000 yards, making it the longest course on Bermuda, and has been named by the New York Times as the best on the island.

Course Description

The course is open daily from 7:30am - 6:00pm unless dusk is expected prior to that. Hours for lessons are identical. Founded in 1970, this golf course on Bermuda has made itself an established site to hit or play a few rounds of golf. The greens, difficulty of the holes, and bunkers all came from the imagination of Robert Trent Jones Sr, the lead architect of the course. The golf course has been given a course rating of 72.4, and its 18 holes measure out to a total of 6401 yards. Also be aware that they've got a pro, Dwayne Pearman, handy, so golf here if you need instruction or tips.

Located on the westernmost part of the island, golfers will get to take in sweeping views of the Atlantic at every hole. You'll have to play around a number of lakes, and will be forced to deal with the brutal sand traps that surround in the greens. The 16th might be the most picturesque of the all the holes, but you'll be in awe every time you get a glimpse of the undulating coastline.
