Stonehole Bay

This beach is often a secluded haven that hardly gets crowded. Wading is safe in the shallow waters, yet the tides can get rough and dangerous as you move deeper into the sea. The strong rock formations and dramatic hills gives visitors the impression of a tropical hideaway.

Located near the center of Warwick Parish, Stonehole Bay is on the South West coast of Bermuda. You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Stonehole Bay is one of those beautiful but fun beaches which rarely gets too crowded, even though its not far from some of Bermuda's best hotspots.

How to Access The Beach
Access to the beach must be done by foot via the South Shore Park, meaning that the area is limited to those that are physically able. Vehicles should find the car park located at the intersection of South Road and Warwick Camp.

Amenities and Ambiance

With a sandy shoreline scattered with large rocks, Stonehole Bay is never very crowded. The shore literally disappears at high tide, so plan accordingly before heading out. The waters are rough sometimes, but near the shore it is safe to swim in the shallow bay. Rip tides and cloudy waters out near the coral make this spot a difficult and dangerous place to snorkel.

West of the beach is the Water Rocks Beach, featuring similar landscapes and South Shore Park to the north guarantees a buffer between the main road and the bay.

The snack bar located at this spot is perfect for quick lunches and cold drinks, too. Depending on the season and time of day, you may also be able to get lunch from one of the mobile vendors who are typically found at this location.

You can enjoy the convenience of picnic facilities.

Yes, public restrooms will be available here. Usually devoid of many people, Stonehole Bay's charm is its seclusion. Both locals and tourists come to enjoy its shores but not in abundance.

However, please remember that while there will be at least one or two amenities and services (BLANK) at Stonehole Bay, it is found inside an area that sees many visitors. If throngs of people are something you want to avoid, it is a decent reason to plan ahead against other visitors, such as coming earlier in the day. If you do not, you might miss the chance to fully use all those comforts which this beach has on site.
