Katouche Bay Beach is a compromise beach that is remote enough that it rarely sees visitors, while close enough to the towns that it is easily reached. Those who decide on Katouche Bay Beach will be treated to a large beach that has plenty to explore, from large rocks and underwater sights, to a rocky cove where you will be able to hunt for fossils.
Set in North Hill Village, 1.9 miles northeast of South Hill, Katouche Bay Beach is on the North coast of Anguilla. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying nearby. Katouche Bay Beach stands out because it's one of the best spots for escaping the typical tourist haunts. Most other beaches you'll come across in Anguilla may be just as beautiful, but tend to be more crowded since they're located by some of the most popular tourist areas in town.
The beach is located at the end of Old Court House Road. If you were coming from the airport, the best way to reach the beach would be to take The Valley Road north and turn right onto Coronation Avenue towards Crocus Bay. Right before the entrance to Crocus Bay Beach, you can turn left onto Old Court House Road.
Surrounded by cliffs, forests, and rough waves, there is not much of this beach that is completely soft sand. Visitors will probably want to wear beach shoes or at least heavy sandals to avoid be cut by sharp rocks. If you are felling adventurous, you will be able to explore the rocky cliffs for the fossils as well as some hidden caves.
Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. The water here is clear and good for snorkeling, so bring your equipment if you're looking to see some exciting marine life.
