Thanks to its stunning beachfront property, Boca Chica has transformed from a sleepy fishing village to a hopping resort destination in recent years.  Today, there is a lot to recommend the town, from a small collection of museums and cultural landmarks to the nature preserves that center on marine life, and even a casino at a local resort.

Juan Dolio Beach

There are a handful of beaches to consider visiting in and around the area. Just click on each beach name for more information concerning that particular stretch of sand.

A local beach where you may find people snorkeling is Boca Chica. Boca Chica's shallow waters are great for swimming and snorkeling, especially around the coral reefs -- in fact, this beach is the largest reef protected bay in the Caribbean. Water sport equipment is available at stands along the beach, so visitors should find plenty to keep them busy.

A second location that beach-goers can consider is Caribe Beach. Speckled with coconut palm trees and beach chairs, Caribe Beach features powder soft white sand and shining topaz waters.

Playa Guayacanes: Guests driving to Playa Guayacanes will need to take the main highway heading East out of Santo Domingo until it comes to Boulevar de Juan Dolio. The beach is located on that road.

These examples are just a few of the options. If you'd like to dig deeper, you can get more details by clicking here.
