Traveling to Bodden Town by Airplane

Fly to Grand Cayman then drive to Bodden Town

Natural beauty and a history of pirate activity make Bodden Town one of the most unique destinations on Grand Cayman.  Because the town is located just 25 minutes south east of the largest international airport in the country, planning a getaway here doesn't take much work at all.

Roberts International

It may seem like a small number compared to some other major international hubs in the region, but the Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) welcomes 55 flights each week.  The airport consists of just one runway and one terminal, but for now that is all that is needed.  Be warned, getting through the Security, Customs, and Immigration area can take awhile, but you can make the process smoother by being prepared with all of the required documents you need to obtain entry to the island.

Flying to Bodden Town from the US

Flights from Miami, Florida account for about half of those that touch down at Roberts International each week. Cayman Airways and American Airlines handle these trips, but you'll also be able to fly with other carriers like Jet Blue from New York, Newark, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, St. Louis, and Tampa on a less frequent basis.

When flying from the United States the following list may be useful. Not all of the flights you will see displayed on some websites make sense so it can be useful to see at a glance which airlines offer direct flights to this location.

Flying to Bodden Town from Canada

From Canada you can fly with Air Canada out of Toronto.  This isn't a possibility for everyone traveling from the Great White North, so planning for a connecting flight through the United States may make for a better plan.

Flying to Bodden Town from the Caribbean

If you're considering traveling between Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman, you'll be able to do so with flights that depart several times daily with Cayman Airways.  Those arriving from elsewhere in the Caribbean can fly direct from Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Cuba.

See the following chart for a listing of scheduled air service from other airports in the Caribbean. Even if there are no flights directly from your preferred airport, making a connection through another Caribbean airport might be a very good solution.

Next Stop, Bodden Town

To get to Bodden Town from Roberts International, simply take the Limford Pierson Highway to Shamrock Road and continue going east along the south coast until you reach your destination.

Air travel is the most popular way to get to Bodden Town, and it is easy to see why.  Flights are not difficult to come by and the airport is near enough that ground transportation is not a huge hassle.  If you're considering flying to your getaway, it is good to know that making these plans should not be difficult.
