If you're staying in Bodden Town and want to explore the rest of Grand Cayman without renting a car or spending a lot of money in cab fare, public transportation in the form of a bus is a great way to go about it.
There are about 40 minibuses that travel around the island each day operating on four set routes. Two of these routes, the Orange Line and the Purple Line make stops in Bodden Town and travel back to the bus terminal, which will then allow passengers to transfer to other lines and visit other parts of the island.
Buses operate daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and your trip could cost anywhere from $1.25 to $5(USD) depending upon where you are traveling to. If you see a bus on the side of the road, simply wave them down and they will generally pick you up. However, the buses only hold 12 people at a time, and if the bus is full they will continue on without stopping to crowd more people on.
|Route||Beginning||Stops Along the Route||End|
|Orange Line to North Side Beach||George Town Bus Terminal||Grand Harbor Bus Stop, Spots Beach Bus Stop, Savannah Bus Stop, Bodden Town Bus Stop, Meagre Bay Beach Bus Stop, Breakers Bus Stop, Old Man Beach Bus Stop||North Side Beach Bus Stop|
|Purple Line to East End||George Town Bus Terminal||Grand Harbor Bus Stop, Spots Beach Bus Stop, Savannah Bus Stop, Bodden Town Bus Stop, Meagre Bay Beach Bus Stop, Frank Sound Beach Bus Stop, Heritage Beach Bus Stop||East End Bus Stop|
Although bus service within Bodden Town is not very extensive, taking the bus can be a great way to get around the island.
