Clear waters that stretch out to the horizon and somewhere off in the distance seem to blend into the sky can be seen from the coast of Bridgetown. Here the beaches often feature calm waters but busy sands, filled with cruise ship passengers and tourists who when they aren't swimming enjoy sitting on a blanket and watching the colorful fishing boats and yacht sailing out to sea.
There are a large selection of beaches to visit in the area. Snorkeling is available at some of these beaches, if some members of your party enjoy the underwater scene. Simply click on specific beach names for a detailed article concerning that section of the coast.
If you like to snorkel, a beach with that option is Accra Beach. The Accra Beach Hotel and Resort occupies a large area leading up to the beach, though public access is available off of Highway 7. Parking is available along Highway 7, as well as on the smaller road east of the beach.
Another alternative to consider is Drill Hall Beach. Drill Hall Beach is fairly large and features pink sand and lush foliage. The beautiful blue sea is perfect for catching waves on a boogie or surf board, with the active waves created by the shallow reef located shortly off the coast. West of the beach is the famous Needhams Point, while the Garrison lies farther inland.
Carlisle Bay: The beach is accessible for pedestrians and vehicles and is located directly off of Highway 7. Taxis and a nearby bus terminal allows easy access for those cruise passengers.
