Needham's Point Beach features soft, white sand and access to the calm Caribbean sea thanks to the area's natural reefs. Swimming and snorkeling are popular activities here, while the plentiful tropical foliage provides excellent shade.

Situated on the outskirts of Bridgetown, three quarters of a mile south of the downtown area, Needham's Point is on the South coast of Barbados. You might want to drop by whether or not you're staying in the immediate vicinity. Although Barbados has beaches that are more secluded than Needham's Point, it has just the right mix of intimacy and atmosphere to attract small crowds.

How to Access The Beach
Needham's Point is accessible by car and foot. Taxis and shuttles make frequent stops nearby, as the beach is directly south of the Barbados Hilton. Drivers should keep an eye out for signs off of Highway 7.

Needham's Point Beach is located on the southwest of the island, with Carlisle Bay and Pebbles and Brownes Beach to the north. Natural reefs directly off of the coast ensure that the turquoise waters remain calm, while the soft sand provides ideal space to sunbathe.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot. Fortunately, the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so grab some equipment if you're looking to see what goes on beneath the surface.

There are plenty of beautiful beach locations to choose from in Barbados, so if Needham's Point doesn't suit you, you can still find a great spot.

You may also want to try Gibbs Beach, which is in a pretty active location. It is located 11 miles to the north. If it's solitude and tranquility you're seeking, Drill Hall Beach is an area which doesn't host as many visitors. You'll find it just a short distance away.
