In 1959 the British Virgin Islands gained a new bird sanctuary, Fallen Jerusalem National Park. This site is an important site for nesting birds, but also a lovely island where tourists can enjoy a day of seclusion on some of the most beautiful beaches around.
Fallen Jerusalem is an acre spanning 48 acres and featuring flourishing coastal flora and enormous boulders.
Birders will love the chance to encounter some of this islands bird refugees, including brown boobies, brown pelicans, laughing gulls, noddies, and terns. North Lee Bay Beach is located on this island, and is a favorite spot amongst snorkelers.

Fallen Jerusalem National Park is situated in the heart of the island of Fallen Jerusalem, 7.0 miles south west of Leverick Bay; it's 2.4 miles to the south-southwest of Spanish Town.
