Fallen Jerusalem National Park

In 1959 the British Virgin Islands gained a new bird sanctuary, Fallen Jerusalem National Park. This site is an important site for nesting birds, but also a lovely island where tourists can enjoy a day of seclusion on some of the most beautiful beaches around.

Fallen Jerusalem is an acre spanning 48 acres and featuring flourishing coastal flora and enormous boulders.

Birders will love the chance to encounter some of this islands bird refugees, including brown boobies, brown pelicans, laughing gulls, noddies, and terns. North Lee Bay Beach is located on this island, and is a favorite spot amongst snorkelers.


Fallen Jerusalem National Park can be found on the island of Fallen Jerusalem, 7.0 miles south west of Leverick Bay; it is two and a half miles (four kilometers) to the south-southwest of Spanish Town.

Fallen Jerusalem is only accessible by boat.

You can tour Fallen Jerusalem National Park from sun up to sun down.


Although not forbidden, overnight trips are no encouraged because overnight anchorage is tricky and unsafe.
