In case you like to explore unfamiliar places and cultures, you might want to visit a museum during your vacation. To get complete information regarding each museum, try clicking on the name.

If you are looking to do some sight-seeing, visit VI Maritime Museum. It can be found at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and located on Tortola, the BVI. You can visit the Maritime Museum between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Another landmark that often intrigues visitors is Old Government House Museum. It is found within Road Town, the BVI. Explore the beautiful grounds and building that make up the Old Government House Museum and enjoy pictures of royal visits and occasions that took place here.

1780 Lower Estate Sugar Works Museum: The 1780 Lower Estate Sugar Works was built by the McCleverly slaves over three centuries ago and the property continued to produce sugar, lime juice, and cotton until the 1940s.

Historical Sites

Callwood Historic Distillery

If you enjoy experiencing the historical roots of an unfamiliar place, you might enjoy visiting some of these historical sites during your vacation.

A common landmark for vacationers is Copper Mine Ruins. It is situated at Copper Mine National Park and located on Virgin Gorda, the BVI. Surrounding the ruin of the mine itself are granite rock outcroppings and quartz, tin copper, clay, and feldspar deposits. Also included here are the ruins of the housing area of the Cornish miners that kept the mine in operation.

An alternative landmark could be Little Fort Ruins. It's a historical site A small fort and wildlife sanctuary, this site is not exactly easy to access. Experienced hikers and those who are up for a challenge will be rewarded with the chance to explore a historic military compound and spot a number of unique plants.

Fort Recovery: Tourists are welcome to visit the fort, but are asked to do so with caution. Because the government has yet to excavate the land, there could be unknown hazards.
