Protected by a gorgeous coral reef system and lined with beach bars, White Bay Beach is a great spot no matter what your favored beach activities are.
Positioned in the heart of Peter Island, 5.8 miles south-southeast of downtown Road Town, White Bay Beach is on the South West edge of the island, You might want even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. There are advantages to visiting a beach that hasn't been "discovered" by thousands of tourists; beaches less-traveled like White Bay Beach are perfect for getting away from it all.
White Bay stretches for about a half a mile and is undeveloped outside of a few beach bars. The soft white sands are lapped by perfect turquoise waters, and the reef is so close to the shore that snorkeling is a must.
Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear enough for snorkeling, so bring your gear if you're hoping to find some interesting marine life.
Visitors will find this beach on the South West coast of Peter Island; the area hosts attractions such as St. Phillip's Church, which is one of the most conveniently accessible attractions.
