Scuba Diving Near Cabarete

Diving in Cabarete means you'll experience marine life along the island's north coast.  These are waters of the Atlantic Ocean and known to be a bit cooler than those on the Caribbean side.  Thanks to the rougher conditions, you'll find the sites down deep to be unique in the Caribbean, and you won't want to miss a chance to see what the currents here have created. 

There are several dive services and a small number of dive sites to choose from.

Dive Operators

If you're ready to take the plunge, you can check with Northern Coast Diving. There are two morning dives scheduled each day, leaving at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., as well as two in the afternoon at 1:00 p.m. They are located in Sosua, 6.9 mi. West of central Cabarete.

Another good option is Dive Cabarete. For well over a decade, Dive Cabarete has lead the way in training up and coming scuba divers in PADI certification. Safety is a top priority, so every member of the staff is well-qualified to help you learn and grow as a diver. They can be reached at (809) 915-9135.

A third option is Divecenter Merlin. In-pool training, open ocean training, open ocean dives, wreck dives, and night dives are all offered by Merlin Dive Center. they even offer a "bubblemaker" course for kids who are 8 and older. They're found within Sosua, 7.0 mi. West of central Cabarete.
