A town that appeals to tourists looking for a less tourist-y destination, Cabrera still has plenty to keep visitors busy.  It is the natural attractions that stand out the most because the surrounding area is such an eco-friendly destination, with a national park, city park, and several beaches for travelers to look forward to.

Beaches

Playa Rio San Juan

There are a large selection of beaches to choose from in and around the area. You can click on each beach name for more information concerning that specific beach.

A nice beach with snorkeling is Orchid Bay Beach. With nothing to see but the rocky cliffs to the side, and the sloping coast behind you, looking out into the shimmering sea and feeling the warm sand is the gift that this tropical paradise has to offer visitors. It is small however, and several groups can easily start making the beach crowded.

Another place worth considering is El Calento de Dario Beach. El Calento de Dario Beach curves outwards into the water. The white sands are lined to coconut palms, and just behind them through the trees are several resort properties who have chosen this location for the beautiful view of the aqua colored waters.

El Breton: Playa El Breton is set within Parque National Cabo Francis along the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. The beach here enjoys calm waters that are great for swimming and snorkeling, and beach combing is another popular pastime along this shore.

Fortunately, you'll be able to find quite a few other beaches in and around the area. Click to see our page about beaches for Cabrera.
