Located at the heart of Puerto Rico, a trip to Caguas means forgoing immediate access to the beach in favor of quick trips into the Central Mountain Range. The town is set in a valley surrounded by verdant rolling hills and plenty of green space to explore from parks and botanical gardens to hidden waterfalls.
Even though most people visiting the area have heard about the beautiful coastline, that isn't the only way to experience the area's natural beauty. The one example is La Coca Falls. It is located 12.1 mi. East-Northeast of central Caguas. This tremendous waterfall is one of the many wonders located in El Yunque National Park, though luckily, is not too far into the forest. Offering breathtaking views, this waterfall also allows visitors to climb up close to it and really feel the thundering force.
Travelers can also spend some time in one of the many parks, or a botanical garden in and around Caguas.
If you'd like to see some beautiful tropical vegetation, consider visiting Caguas Botanical Garden, which is found within Caguas. The botanical garden in Caguas exhibits some of the natural floral life in Puerto Rico, as well as some art work and presentations on the farming history of the island. This is a nice attraction for anyone looking for a relaxing walk while learning a little more about the island.
