This is beach where you can relax, rest on the shore and suntan. Sometimes you can swim here, but beware rough waters. It's isolated and adorned by beautiful greenery.

Located on the northern edge of the island of Dominica, You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying nearby. It's often said that Hampstead Beach is one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Most other beaches on Dominica may provide just as many amenities as Hampstead Beach, but are usually more cramped because they're frequented by tourists looking for a lively scene.

How to Access The Beach
This beach is on the northeast shore of Dominica. You can get closer in to the beach to park if you have a four wheel drive vehicle, be prepared for a hike if you don't.

Amenities and Ambiance

Hampstead Beach has all the elements of a paradise. It features lush greenery and palm trees behind you and crystalline waters endlessly lapping upon the shore. It's a tan and black sand shoreline. There are no facilities available here, so bring your own beach chair.

Many visitors find themselves ordering a drink or snack from the concessions here, even if they move off-site for lunch. On some days, it may be possible to try local specialties from one of the mobile vendors who typically operate along this coastline.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

It's located near the Wind Blow Estate and any nearby accommodations, which is one of the most conveniently located places to stay accessible from Hampstead Beach, despite there not being too many additional popular spots in the region.

Hampstead Beach is near Calibishie, so exploring the city is a convenient option. Not far away you'll find Calibishie, a city which is noted for its balance between seclusion and urbanization. From the coast, Calibishie is just up the road, roughly three quarters of a mile (one and a quarter kilometers).

Whether this spot is full of bodies or practically empty will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels. There aren't many major hotels in the immediate vicinity, but it's sometimes enjoyed by guests staying at some of the smaller accommodations in the area.

Even after a restful afternoon at the beach, the day isn't truly complete until you eat at a nearby restaurant, where you'll be able to get a taste of the local fare, within just a few miles of this shoreline. Hampstead Beach isn't the only beach worth checking out on Dominica.

Another location you might enjoy is Hodges Beach, situated within a mile or so. Hodges Beach features calm clear blue waters, which make a great spot for casual swimming. If you're on the lookout for more active and social, you might enjoy people watching at Batibou Bay Beach. You'll find it a half mile to the west.
