Woodford Hill Bay stands out from other beaches because it's perfect for escaping the typical tourist haunts. Most other beaches on Dominica may be just as pretty, but are usually busier since they're found in the most popular parts of town.
It's no trouble getting to this beach as it's visible from the main road. It's near the town of Woodford Hill and you'll recognize it by the rocky cape on it's eastern side.

From the shore, Calibishie is a quick trip away, maybe two miles (three and a half kilometers).
The number of other people sharing spots in the sand can vary widely, depending on time of day, season, and how many people have booked rooms nearby. There are not many large hotels nearby, but you may encounter guests staying at smaller lodgings in the area.

Dominica has several beautiful beaches, so Woodford Hill Bay is not your only option.
If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Calibishie Beach, situated just a little ways away. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, L'Anse Noire could provide a little more opportunity for excitement, and isn't far from other popular destinations. You'll find it a quarter mile to the west.
Another option worth considering is Middle Bay, located fairly close-by, which means a quick cab ride will get you here pretty easily.
Of course, there is much more to do besides lounge on the sand on Dominica, but taking a swim at Woodford Hill Bay is certainly a fun way to enjoy the area's natural attractions.
