Since 1990, Juan Carlos Garrido has been taking visitors out to explore what lies beneath the surface of the Caribbean Sea. While many dive centers along the strip stick to diving nearby, this operation schedules regular trips to the surrounding areas of Isla Mujeres, Tulum, and Cozumel.
The Cancun Scuba Center is a one-stop shop for everything scuba and snorkeling related. With specialized trips off the cost of the Yucatan and Cozumel, as well as excursions into the cenotes of the mainland, Cancun Scuba Center offers a diverse mix of adventures to choose from. Even if you do not know how to scuba dive, the center's training programs, snorkeling trips, or other excursions are still available.
PADI training begins with the Discover Scuba for just $100, but if you've taken the course before and want a refresher before a quick dive, the cost is $30(USD). Certification courses begin with Scuba Diver for $295, Open Water for $415, Advanced Open Water $330, Rescue Diver, $235, and Dive Master for $715(USD). All of these courses also require that you purchase the necessary materials, which may be anywhere from $35 to $225(USD). If you'd like to branch out and learn about specialty diving, you can sign up for such courses as Wreck Diver and Underwater Photographer for between $195 ad $420(USD).
When it comes time to dive, the cost is $68 for a one tank reef dive or $85(USD) for two tanks. A two tank Cenote Dive is $165, and if you opt for a trip out to Cozumel to dive, it is $200(USD). Other specialized trips from snorkeling to fishing and even a whale shark tour are available from as low as $40(USD).
