Oddly, these ruins are located in the middle of the busiest area of Cancun. Yet the Ruinas del Rey are here, and are able to maintain a peaceful aurora. Visitors can leisurely explore the ruins as well as feed the iguanas that now inhabit it.
These ruins are small, but are part of a large archaeological conservation sight, so feel free to look around and talk to park rangers who can help you learn about Mexico's rich past.

Ruinas del Rey is located in Cancun Beach Hotel Zone, a neighborhood in the vicinity of Cancun; it's nine miles (14 and a half kilometers) to the southeast of Cancun.
These ruins are located within the Hotel Zone in Cancun, and some guests may be able to simply cross the street from their hotel. For those not so lucky, the ruins are located just across from Playa Delfines.
Active explorers might additionally be enchanted by the area because of the possibility of open-air pursuits. Historic site guests interested in testing their skills on the golf course should consider going to the closest course, Iberostar Cancun Golf Course. Uneventful days can also be planned at Playa Delfines, the closest beach. Happily, many other beach and golf choices are available in the community. Fortunately, visitors will also have access to one or two nearby additional place of interest within a short distance. The most accessible indoor attraction to Ruinas del Rey is Punta Nizuc National Park, and you'll find it a short distance away.
