Taxis in Cane Garden Bay

Let someone who knows the way get you from place to place

Using taxi services as your main mode of transportation in Cane Garden Bay can get pricy. For tourists who don't feel comfortable navigating the roads on their own, or plan to do a lot of walking and only occasionally hail a cab, it still stands as the best option.

Taxi Companies

Due to a law that rental car agencies may not have branches at airports; a taxi will likely be your fist mode of transportation once you arrive on Beef Island. Drivers keep up on arrival times and are always waiting to pick up passengers and give them a ride.

One of the first things you'll notice about cabs in Cane Garden Bay is that they are actually vans designed to hold as many passengers at one time as possible. They don't come in any specific color, make, or model, but are still easy to pick out on a busy street thanks to the dome light on the roof and the letters “TX” on the license plate.

Rates, Fares, and Fees

Taxis in the British Virgin Islands are unmetered. Instead of a ticker that measures miles or minutes, they have rates set by the government that vary based upon where you are going and how many passengers are in the vehicle. Because of this, it is common for strangers to end up sharing a cab to split the fare.

You'll notice that there are no set fees for trips within Cane Bay. This means if you want to take a cab from your hotel to a restaurant, the driver will default to the “Pay by Mile” rate chart. Rates are as follows:
