How to Reach Carriacou by Airplane

There are a few ways for tourists to fly to Carriacou

As a small island off the coast of Grenada, Carriacou's visitors range from those who are looking for a quiet getaway where they are cut off from the busy city life, to those who are staying on Grenada for the bulk of their vacation, but want to visit Carriacou for a day or two. Depending on your plans and in part where you are traveling from, there are a few different flight paths to consider.

The airport on Carriacou is called the Lauriston Airport (CRU). It is located in Hillsborough, which is centered in the island's west coast. It is a small facility, with very few extras for tourists to enjoy, but it does have a 2,625 asphalt runway which is capable of handling flights with smaller airlines. Although it is not possible to book a direct flight from outside of the Caribbean, you can fly to Barbados and then switch to a flight with SVG Air to travel the rest of the way to Carriacou.

Of course, the most popular way to get to Carriacou is to fly to the Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) on Grenada, then fly (again with SVG Air) to Lauriston Airport. There are four flights a day every day of the week except for Thursday, which take about 15 minutes and cost around $50(USD) one way. You can book your flight to Grenada with American Airlines, Air Canada, Virgin Airlines, and Caribbean Airlines from several international air hubs.
