Casa de Campo

Casa de Campo

Your dream vacation in the Caribbean has only just begun as you step onto the property of the newly remodeled Casa de Campo. More than your typical resort, this locale is a virtual private village, with everything one needs to get by, and then some.

From the top-ranked golf courses and fishing excursions to the luxurious ambiance, Casa de Campo has it all -- including status as one of the Preferred Hotels and Resorts, which means it is ranked as one of the top 250 destinations in the world. To further its highly recommended status, in 2013 Fodor's ranked this property as the "Best All-Inclusive for Adventure" and at the same time Conde Nast Traveller marked it as number 24 out of 25 of the "Top Resorts in the Caribbean."

Travelers hoping to keep active will never run out of things to do at this all-inclusive destination, which has an impressive range of recreational options. Whether you're searching for thrills in the ocean or on land, this beachfront location has got it all. If you are trying to organize a conference or are traveling as part of a group, this hospitable property makes the process a bit less of a hassle.

Positioned in Casa de Campo, Casa de Campo, an all-inclusive property, is a great choice for tourists who are interested in staying in this neighborhood. The center of La Romana is four miles (six and a half kilometers) to the west-northwest.

There are a variety of available lodgings at Casa de Camp's 279 room resort. Couples can tuck themselves away in a quiet Elite Room or spread out a little more in an Elite Suite.

For those seeking an even more luxurious atmosphere, a step up to the Luxury Room or Luxury Suite is in order. Vacationing families can take advantage of the space by combining a Luxury Suite with an adjacent Luxury Room so the family can enjoy quality time together or quiet time alone. Regardless of your room choice, all guests experience modern conveniences in every room including flat-screen TVs with cable, high-speed internet service, coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, and a private terrace. A four-person electric cart is also included to help get you around the property. Luxury rooms include a pillow-top mattress, select terrace views, walk in closet, tile floors, and marble vanities.

Because there are a total of 279 rooms, Casa de Campo is quite a decently sized location. An impressive array of options and an active social scene make this super-sized property a hit with guests who can't wait to be in the middle of the action. This resort has been awarded a 4 star rating, considering its amenities, value, and more.

Activities and Amenities

Minitas Beach

One of the perks of staying at Casa de Campo is the on-site private beach, Minitas Beach. From this spot you can participate in a number of water activities, from snorkeling to jet skiing to fishing, and those who prefer to play on land can lounge with a cocktail, play a number of games in the La Palapa beach hut, or dine at the Le Cirque restaurant. Get all of your beach needs from the seaside Beach Shop, and don't forget to sign up for a SCUBA excursion.

Golf is one of the biggest attractions at the Casa de Campo resort, but it is not the only one by far. Shooting is becoming more popular at the resort as they add more and various shooting activities. There are sporting clays with trap and skeet shooting. The most unique part of the shooting experience however at this resort is the venue in which the shooting takes place. Almost 250 acres of land was set aside to grow naturally, and the stations are nestled within that natural forest area to simulate real birds taking flight and challenge even the best shooters to get better.

The La Terraza Tennis Center features 13 Har-Tru courts, 10 of which are lighted, and 25 USPTR certified tennis pros who work alongside many more junior professionals to guidance to guests with an aptitude towards tennis. Any equipment you may need is available in the Tennis Pro Shop, and private lessons are available for a fee.

Equestrian Center

Casa de Campo's Equestrian Center is a busy place indeed, offering guided horseback tours on trails throughout the property, English and Western style riding and jumping lessons as well as instruction on horse grooming and rodeo tricks. Ponies are available or the younger set, and adults with experience will love the polo fields.

As aforementioned, golf is one of the main draws to Casa de Campo. In fact, in 2013, the resort won U.S Travel Weekly's Magellan Award for "Best Golf Resort." Three of the most challenging golf courses in the world are located here, and one of which, Teeth of the Dog, is consistently noted as the top course in the Caribbean. If you are new to golf, or simply believe you can stand to improve your game, you can sign up at the Jim McLean Golf School.

The Cygalle Healing Spa goes beyond the traditional beauty treatment to focus on holistic healing and internal wellness. Between the hours of 9:00 a.m.

Regardless of which corner of the Casa de Campo property you are standing on, a drink is not far from your hands. There are nine on-site bars, not one exactly like the other, but all ready to help you relax and have a good time.

Coco Mar is on the beach, and serves Caribbean inspired cocktails from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the Hotel Main Area is both 19th Hole and La Caña Bar & Lounge. Both are open air settings and are best visited mid-day. If you're near the marina, your options are Punto & Corcho and Il Pistakio Ice Cream Shop, which despite its family-friendly name served alcohol alongside the ice cream offerings. Near the Equestrian Center you'll find the Polo Bar, and in Altos de Chavon is Papa Jacks Bar and Onno's Bar.

There is a casino on-site, so you may want to make plans to check it out if you are in need of a fun time.

Although Casa de Campo is a luxury resort, that doesn't mean the kids have to stay at home or sit bored in the hotel room. Casa de Campo offers a host of activities for kids of all ages, from toddler to young adult. Click here for more details.

Probably the most famous and most-desired dining locations is the Beach Club by Le Cirque. For other types of food, try Chinois for a wonderful variety asian foods, or for a lighter, wide selection menu the Block & Barrel Gourmet Deli, Papa Jacks and Lago Grill are great choices. And for dessert, head to Il Pisakio, an ice cream shop with plenty of ice cream choices and a variety of other tasty treats for those not into ice cream.

Outside of what's available on-location, guests hoping to find further culinary variety should also look into some of the other local dining choices.
